PEOPLE QUIT SAYING HE EXAGGERATED OR WASN'T CANDID!! THE MAN BOLDLY LIED! Liar, Liar, Pants on fire. This isn't a not candid enough, over exaggeration, or a small white lie we are dealing with people. We are dealing with a bold faced, I thought I would be getting away with this lie. The picture to the right is not an "over exaggeration". This is a full made up story made to make sure any facts of the real story were not to get out and the truth not to be told. 'The guy pulled out his gun, he cocked it, put it to my forehead and he said, 'Get down,' and I put my hands up, I was like 'whatever',' Lochte told Bush.
This is a full on example of white privilege and a person believing they can charge people of color to a crime that not only never occurred, but was also used as a cover up. A lie of this magnitude can't be told by everyone, especially by people of color. People of color don't have this opportunity. I don't have this opportunity. I certainly don't have the opportunity, that once my bold and obvious lie is found out for people to coddle me and say I wasn't being "candid" enough- but didn't lie. That I was just exaggerating. No!! Exaggerating is saying you got a 30 on the ACT when you actually got a 28. Lochte lying is saying you got a 30 when you actually got a 15. You are no where near the truth.
You can see the good ole' boys club go into effect and want to protect their own with their verbiage. They do not say he is lying. Because gosh forbid it is admitted he did. They say everything other than lying. If you haven't watch Al Roker destroy Billy Bush then take a look at this link: Billy Bush and Al Roker (the real hero) talk about Ryan Locate. Billy Bush tried everything possible to say Lochte wasn't lying. Come on son!! People of color know what they can and cannot do in a foreign country, we do not have the luxury of the good ole' boys club to protect us.
Why would people of color take the chance of causing damage to a business, fighting a security guard, and then lying about it during the Olympics- only the most important athletic event in the world and while in a city KNOWN for their police corruption. Why would we? Oh that's right we wouldn't. We wouldn't because we understand we don't have that privilege. We would have been crucified. The things the media and people would have said about us would have stolen our soul. They would have Mortal Kombated us... "FINISH HIM"
They would not have been nice, polite, tactful, or said:
"I do not regret having apologized. No apologized from him or other athletes are needed. We have to understand that these kids came here to have fun. Let's give these kids a break. Sometimes you make decisions that you later regret. They had fun, they made a mistake, life goes on." - IOC spokesman Mario Andrada
They would have said nothing of the sort. Why not? Because they would have been too busy demonizing us. They would have made sure to mention every stereotype possible used on people of color. Look at Gabby Douglas when she just didn't put her right hand over her heart. For something that simple they went after her, with no regard for her age and she is 20!!!! What would they have said about a person of color in their 30s getting caught in a law that wasn't just a fib in their hometown. This was a lie that got two countries and millions of people involved...
